Building Something with Maud Payan & Anthoine Dusselier, Founders of Tarmac Technologies (Future 40, 2019)
Part of HEC Program, Tarmac Technologies, enabling seamless aircraft ground operations to reduce delays, has been selected to be part of STATION F’s Future 40 in 2019.
How would you reduce delays on aircrafts? For Maud Payan and Anthoine Dusselier, the answer is not in the air, but on the ground. “If you look at ground operations, when the aircraft’s on the ground between two flights, nothing has really changed in the past 20 years. Everything is done manually”, explains Anthoine Dusselier.
To change this, Maud Payan and Anthoine Dusselier created Tarmac Technologies in 2019. Part of HEC Program, the company enables seamless aircraft ground operations to reduce delays and improve safety by connecting all stakeholders (airports, airlines & handlers). “We want all the players to collect information and share the data”, says Maud Payan. Anthoine Dusselier is pointing out that “teams can use that data to conduct multilevel analysis and put in place safety and operational improvements”.
“Faster on the ground to be sooner in the air”
When they launched their startup in 2019, Maud and Anthoine “received great feedback”, such as being selected to be part of STATION F’s Future 40, higlighting the 40 most promising companies of the campus.
“But then, came 2020. The Covid-19 crisis hit us. It was tough for us, it was tough for the industry”, Anthoine says. “The only planes that were flying were cargo planes”, so Tarmac Technologies adapted its solutions to new protocols and “to be used by cargo handlers and cargo airlines”.
By adapting this way, Tarmac Technologies has grown its revenues since the beginning of the Covid-19 crisis. Maud and Anthoine can now promise you that next time you’ll fly, “your aircraft will be faster on the ground, to be sooner in the air!”
