This fundraise will allow them to accelerate R&D efforts and put ethical AI at the core of its solution.

We are thrilled to announce that VizioSense, part of the Ponts Alumni program at STATION F, has recently raised €1.4M in seed funding. Among the investors participating in this funding round are Alacrité France, BeAngels, Wesley Clover International Corporation, Sir Terry Matthews, the European Business Angel Network, and business angels.

Co-founded in April 2022 by Maxime Schacht, an IoT expert, and Amine Bourki, a computer vision and AI researcher, VizioSense develops optical sensors based on Edge-AI to detect, count, track, and segment people and object flows in real-time.

The raised funds will be used to accelerate R&D efforts and strengthen teams with deep learning and computer vision experts.

Co-founder Maxime shared his global ambitions for the company: “At VizioSense, we create sensors with embedded computer vision apps. These apps are privacy-friendly, as they only extract essential data from filmed scenes. The future we have in mind for VizioSense is a multitude of apps for smart cities, smart buildings and smart industries: apps that will monitor assets and people in a respectful way”.

VizioSense's first product, VizioPark, goes beyond being an intelligent parking solution and revolutionizes the market with AI embedded in the sensor, extracting real-time information on parking occupancy and duration per spot. Major companies such as Xperanti, Aerea, Citymesh, Groupe Assmann, and RMS.lu are already using their technology. Carlo Posing, Integrator Partner and CEO of RMS.lu said that “The VizioPark sensor is the best performing on the market”.

In June, the startup launched its second solution, VizioCount, dedicated to real-time counting of people and vehicles. These sensors enable businesses and public authorities to improve parking management, urban mobility, traffic flow, and reduce CO2 emissions.

“We're competing with legacy technologies that are shutting down one after another because they're no longer cost-effective. With this new solution, we'll be able to collect parking data without the need for markings, which was not possible before. VizioSense puts ethical AI at the core of its solutions", said Maxime Schacht.
