Nelson Mobility (Moove Lab Program) raises €1.2M

Revolutionizing corporate vehicle fleets: introducing Nelson Mobility, the pioneering energy transition solution

Published on Jul 27, 2023

We are thrilled to announce that Nelson Mobility, part of the Moove Lab program and previously part of the HEC program at STATION F, has raised 1.2 million euros in seed funding. Thirty business angels have invested in this initial funding round, including Michaël Benabou (President of Financière Saint James and cofounder of Veepee), Thibaud Elzière (founder of Hexa), Frédéric Montagnon (founder and chairman of Arianee), and Gaëlle Olivier (board member of Partners Group).

Recently graduated from studies, the four founders of Nelson Mobility, Alfred Richard, Julien Bou Abboud, Octave Locqueville, and Inès Multrier, have joined forces to accelerate the energy transition. They have developed a solution to help companies decarbonize their activities and assist them throughout the process of electrifying their vehicle fleets. To achieve this, they have utilized the often untapped mobility data of companies, to create the first mobility management platform for corporate vehicle fleets. This enables companies to instantly visualize the operational, environmental, and financial implications of their choices.

In an interview with STATION F, Alfred Richard, co-founder and CEO of Nelson, shared that the team’s short-term mission is to become the reference for corporate EVs, by working with companies to deliver their fleets. In the long-term, their mission is to further develop their product to optimize electric vehicle management across energy usage and charging.

The fundraising will enable Nelson Mobility to accelerate its development, become a key player in fleet electrification, and strengthen its long-term roadmap. Reflecting on the fundraise, Alfred shared, "We had two advantages that convinced our investors. Firstly, we are a strong team that works very well together and understands our market as well as our mission. Secondly, we had significant customers, which provided traction. Additionally, our focus on climate and software topics also immediately convinced the investors. Whether at HEC or Moove Lab, we quickly had access to experts for each subject, and we developed our solution in the best possible way. The workshops, office hours, and events organized on-site were truly beneficial for the entire team."

We asked Alfred to share a lesson from their journey: "You have to dare. Dare to talk to everyone. Dare to ask questions. Dare to speak to major corporations and encourage them to accelerate their energy transition. Even though we are young, we are listened to, and we can make a positive impact for a better future."
